Lake Vista New Orleans
Tucked in between Lake Pontchartrain and City Park, Lake Vista has a wagon wheel street layout. Long green spaces divide the area into 5 sections. Because there are so many cul-de-sac streets, there is little through traffic in the neighborhood.
Lake Vista architecture is typically ranchers or traditional 2 story construction, with an occasional contemporary or mid-century modern thrown in. Homes are larger, with an average size of 4 bedrooms, 3 baths and 3,000 square feet of living area.
Lot fronts range from 50 to over 100 feet wide, with depths of 125 feet and up. Cul-de-sac lots are particularly large for the area and back up to park spaces. Off street parking in the form of driveways and garages is the norm, as are beautifully maintained landscaping.
Optional membership in the Lake Vista Property Owners Association is $50 per year and there are building restrictions in place for any changes to properties in the subdivision.
Despite the close proximity to the lake, Lake Vista is truly a suburban neighborhood, with the need for a car to get to shopping and dining.
