If you’re on the hunt for a home with a front porch, then Mid City New Orleans should definitely be on your short list. While the architecture is varied, the majority of homes in this neighborhood have that most quintessential of southern perks: a porch. If you like the outdoors, then this is the perfect space for you.
But it’s not all about porch sitting (although that’s pretty darned appealing), it’s the proximity to everything else. There’s City Park and the New Orleans Museum of Art on one end. There’s the medical corridor on the other. And snuggled up in the middle, you’ll find some of our favorite places to grab a bite – Clesi’s for seafood, Parkway for poboys, Katie’s for brunch, and Bayou Beer Garden for any time you need a cold one.
The Lafitte Greenway starts (or ends, depending on your perspective) in Mid City and stretches for miles. Ride your bike, walk your dog, or take an evening run in a big expanse of green space.
You’ll have choices in grocery stores, convenience and drug stores, and too many other restaurants to mention. Getting to downtown or Metairie or even the West Bank is a breeze, because it doesn’t get more centrally located than this.
