Developed in the 1950s, the Lake Terrace – Lake Oaks New Orleans neighborhood offers a prime location for home buyers that want to be close to the water, yet still just minutes from downtown. With a total of 447 homes in the community, it’s big enough to offer choices but small enough to maintain that neighborhood feel.

Active Home Owners Association

In 2002, the Lake Terrace homeowners voted to create a special taxing district to cover the cost of a neighborhood security patrol. An annual assessment of $300 per parcel is included in the property taxes of all properties in Lake Terrace. The Crime Prevention District Board meets regularly at the Greek Church on the corner of St. Bernard Avenue and Robert E. Lee at 7:00 p.m. on the second Wednesday of January, March, May, July, September, and November.

There are also some great annual events that take place in Lake Terrace that give you a chance to meet and socialize with your neighbors. Movie nights, Easter egg hunts, garden clubs and more are all available to residents of the community.
