If there’s one thing I’ve learned during this election season, it’s that different people’s perception of the same event is widely divergent. I’m not talking a little different, I’m talking polar opposite reactions. Why I’m surprised by this, I have no idea. We, as a country, have been rolling down this road to Polarizationville for several years.
As a result of the divisions that have been sown, I’ve found a lot of agents that no longer feel like their view is welcomed in their current offices. Now, I’m sure that there are some former Crescent City Living agents that felt that way too, so I’m not pointing fingers at anyone!
There are two sides, it’s just a matter of which one you find yourself on and whether or not your work home feels like a safe space for you to be…well, you.
I recently got some pushback on a Facebook post I made, because I clearly indicated a preference for sassy, smart, flaming liberal REALTORS. Y’all, you would have thought I’d called someone’s baby ugly.
But here’s the thing.
Where you hang your license matters because the public’s perception is reality.
You want to be surrounded by like-minded people. People who have the same or better skills. People who are open to diversity. People who are willing to both teach and learn. People who don’t respond with “well…” when someone says Black Lives Matter. People who won’t stop fighting for the rights of women, of minorities, of immigrants, of our LGBTQ+ community.
We think we have that here and our perception makes our reality. Feel free to join us.
