Living at 369 Longwood Drive

The living room is spacious, with a vaulted ceiling, functional gas fireplace with brick hearth, crown molding, recessed lighting, a ceiling fan, and a breakfast bar that connects to the kitchen. Don’t miss the built-in dry bar, with storage cabinets and open shelving for all of your prettiest glassware. Perfect for entertaining, the living room opens to the kitchen, the dining room, and the sunroom.

The kitchen has granite countertops, tile backsplash, dual sinks, tile floors, a kitchen island with more storage, a pantry, and plenty of natural light. Deep storage drawers can accommodate all of your pots + pans with room left over for something more.

Appliances include refrigerator, gas range/oven, dishwasher, and microwave.

Just off of the kitchen is the formal dining room, with a spectacular wall of glass shelving that provides a view of the sunroom, making the room feel even larger than it is.

The oversized sunroom is outstanding, with a dramatic vaulted wood ceiling, dual ceiling fans, and great views of the backyard.

A bonus room is tucked behind the interior laundry room, making it the perfect secluded spot for your home office.

Yet another bonus space/craft room/home gym/whatever you want to make it is a new addition to the house and is currently being used as storage.

Beds + Baths

The primary bedroom has a great walk-in closet, a view of the backyard, and an attached private bath. The primary bath features a granite-topped dual sink vanity plus a jet tub that’s ready for you to soak away the cares of the day.

There are 3 additional bedrooms with easy access to another full bath with full tub/shower and vanity storage.

Outdoors at 369 Longwood

The awesome fenced (new fence 2020!) backyard has subsurface drainage and a storage piece for lawn equipment on the side of the house that is neatly tucked away. Hurricane shutters mean you don’t have to worry about putting up and taking down boards during the season, plus the windows have a transferrable warranty.

Bonus tidbits

We asked the owner about the house and here is what they had to say

5 things I love about my home

  1. Bonus room/sunroom – an excellent addition to the home, doubles the living space.  Great room for kids to play, exercise, and spread out as a family.  Air conditioned/heated.  The glass wall really opens up the space so it has an open floor plan feel without the noise, and the glass wall is a beautiful feature
  2. Laundry Room – Converted laundry room with tile floors, storage, and counter for folding laundry
  3. Great layout for entertaining – the flow between kitchen, dining room, and living area is perfect for entertaining/hosting dinners and parties.  A lot of space for people and not being completely open floor plan helps control noise but still feels like it’s all connected
  4. Storage Spaces – the house has an incredible amount of store: utility room (part of converted garage), floored attic, hallway closets, walk-in closets in office and master bedroom
  5. Office – small bedroom that I converted into an office.  I love having a dedicated space to work, especially since working from home since Covid.

5 things I love about my neighborhood

  1. Quiet and very little traffic – we live on a small loop that doesn’t have any thru traffic roads, so there is very little traffic.  Only people that live on these 3 streets drive here
  2. Family-friendly – most of my neighbors are families, there are usually kids out playing or riding bikes.
  3. School districts – we are in the district for New Sarpy/Ethel Schoeffner Elementary, Harry M Hurst Middle, and Destrehan High public schools.  St Charles Borromeo private school is also in our neighborhood.  You can walk to Borromeo and Harry Hurst.  The public schools here have excellent national and local rankings
    1. Destrehan High: Destrehan High School in Destrehan, LA – US News Best High SchoolsDestrehan High School in Reserve, LA – Niche,
    2. Harry Hurst: Harry M. Hurst Middle School in Louisiana – U.S. News Education (usnews.com)Harry M. Hurst Middle School in Kenner, LA – Niche
    3. New Sarpy Elementary: New Sarpy Elementary School in Destrehan, LA – Niche
  4. Parks – there are 2 parks close by.  The first is a 1 minute walk and has a giant field, baseball diamond, and playground.  The other is a 15 minute walk and is a very large park (East Bank Bridge Park) with a big playground and baseball fields.
  5. Easy access to the interstate – we are a 3 minute drive from the onramp to I310 and to River Road.  Both provide direct access to the Greater New Orleans area
