FAUBOURG MARIGNY AND BYWATER NEIGHBORHOOD VIDEO TOUR
Funky, eclectic, gritty, diverse, friendly, artsy, musical….all of these adjectives are appropriate when describing the New Orleans neighborhoods just downriver from the French Quarter.
Faubourg Marigny and the Bywater are two of the most interesting parts of the city. Originally settled by Sicilian immigrants, they have always been working class neighborhoods. As revitalization has spread beyond the Quarter, these communities have become more and more in demand for their still affordable housing and the quirkiness that lets everyone just be who they are, without judgement from their neighbors.
Watching them bloom, while still retaining their original charm that draws people in, is a wonderful thing.
Walkable, bikeable and filled with interesting architecture (and amazing colors!), they are among the most intriguing New Orleans neighborhoods.
