One of the best friends of Crescent City Living is a local historian, Edward Branley. Ed has written books about streetcars, Maison Blanche and other New Orleans icons. We had a chance recently to sit down with him and get a little bit of Lakeview New Orleans history, including the fascinating tidbit that the lakefront actually used to be where Robert E. Lee Blvd. is today.
While Lakeview might be the home of big, almost suburban homes today, that wasn’t always the case. It has a long history as part of water navigation from the lake into the city! Listen to Ed explain it all as only he can do.
