Garden District Condo Sales
Condos have become much more popular in New Orleans than they have ever been in the past. While it may have taken us awhile to latch onto that trend, the condo market gets stronger each year, despite the fact that financing can sometimes be troublesome.
The Garden District has seen a rapid increase in the number of condominium sales as large properties are subdivided into condos, sometimes with just 2 or 3 units in the entire development.
What was the market like in 2012?
- The number of sales was down slightly, from 124 in 2011 to 116 in 2012
- Average sale prices were up 15.35%, ending the year at $228,006
- Average days on market ended the year at 137, but it should be noted that over 35% of the units sold in less than 30 days
