Located on the West Bank of New Orleans, in Algiers, Walnut Bend is a more traditional subdivision than you’ll find on the East Bank. With streets named after holidays and reindeer, the architecture is mostly ranch style and two-story homes.
Off street parking and fenced yards are the norm, so if you need backyard space for the dogs or kids, you’ll definitely find it here. If you’re looking for a place where you can walk to do all of your errands? It might be a little too suburban for you, although there are plenty of businesses nearby.
Commute times are average for New Orleans. Even though it’s on the West Bank, Walnut Bend is less than 10 minutes from the Crescent City Connection bridge and only 15 minutes from downtown New Orleans.
