Welcome Heather Shields to the Crescent City Living crew
Moving to New Orleans in 2009, Heather Shields fell in love with the different architectural styles and community pride in the faubourgs’ of New Orleans. She spent the first few months getting lost in neighborhoods and meeting the residents that made each special.
One adventure led her to the Canal Street ferry, where she would discover her New Orleans neighborhood, Historic Algiers Point. Heather has spent the last 5+ years working to renovate her New Orleans home. Along the way, she’s been careful to preserve the unique historical elements of the home while mixing modern and industrial styles.
The love for this city and her neighborhood has led her to serve on the board of the Algiers Point Association and assisting in the organization of the Algiers Point Home Tour. Heather has also become a member of Algiers United Methodist Church and a proud New Orleans Pussyfooter.
When she’s home you can often find her on her balcony attempting small container gardening, with her rescue dog, Lady Lavergne and rescue cat, Tiny.
