Mardi Gras Parade Route Homes
If your idea of heaven is to walk out of your front door to the sound of marching bands and the sight of floats rolling by, living on the Mardi Gras parade route might be the perfect choice for your New Orleans home.
You’ll be the most popular person in your social circle if you can offer a clean bathroom, a spot to sit in between parades, and a place to escape from the madness for minute. Weekends are a marathon, not a sprint, so you’ll have company from sun up to sundown if you throw a bash.
The drawbacks?
Getting to and from your place is next to impossible on some days, so you’ll need some stellar planning and shopping skills to avoid the need to leave home during parade traffic. A front fence will keep other parade goers from spilling into your yard, onto the porch, or even trying to sneak into the party. (Wristbands for guests are always a good idea).
