2020 has certainly not been the year we thought we would get. COVID-19 marched in and changed everything, and will continue to wreak havoc into 2021 with Mardi Gras already canceled.
But that doesn’t mean Thanksgiving 2020 doesn’t offer things to be thankful for.
Trust
So far this year, we’ve earned the trust of almost 200 buyers, sellers, landlords, and tenants. In a business that’s based on reputation and trust, this falls right at the top of our things to be thankful for list.
Home
If there’s one thing we’ve all learned this year, it’s the value of our homes as safe refuges. In the middle of the pandemic, we chose to move our office home to a new space and we’re so thankful for this place. We have room to spread out and social distance while still maintaining our connections with each other. Sometimes a change is just what’s needed.
Technology
When you can’t be face to face in real life, technology has been a savior in keeping folks connected. Whether your connection takes place via Zoom meetings, virtual school, Facetime, or another form of video communication, we can’t imagine having made it this far without the help that those tools have brought to us.
Local businesses
In lieu of the big boxes, we’re giving our local business owners a huge thank you for figuring out how to keep their doors open and continuing to serve the New Orleans community. Whether it’s selling puzzles to pass the time at home, or feeding out of work service industry folks, or jumping in with fantastic masks, our local businesses have been stellar during this entire time. Be sure to thank them and remember to #shoplocal this gift-giving season.
