Dog friendly New Orleans bars
We’re a pet-friendly city, that’s for sure. All you have to do is wander down just about any street or along the levee and you’ll have a chance to meet some new furry friends. Parks, neutral grounds, and sidewalks abound with pets. And so do some of our local watering holes. If you’re new, here are a few choices for dog-friendly New Orleans bars. No one likes to drink alone, so we asked our fans to tell us where they imbibe with the pups.
Old Point Bar
Located in Algiers Point, there is usually a canine customer or two bellied up to the bar at any given time. A laid-back neighborhood spot, Old Point is on the corner of Patterson Road and Olivier Street.
Old Point Bar ! Allowed inside and out and they’ll even claim a bar stool. Most dog friendly place I’ve been to ~ Sarah M.
Harry’s Corner
Just 2 blocks from Jackson Square, Harry’s Corner is a cash-only joint in the Quarter. Harry’s is open daily from 10am – 3am.
The only one I can remember seeing a dog in is Harry’s Corner which is one of our favorite watering holes when we are in town. The dogs were adorable and the drinks were reasonably priced. ~ Leslie B.
Cosimo’s Bar
Also in the Quarter, Cosimo’s is known for offering happy hour food. Located at 1201 Burgundy Street, it opens at 4pm Monday through Thursday, and at 2pm Friday through Sunday.
Cosimo’s Bar is the best! Friendly and laid back. Great prices and great atmosphere. Pups are welcomed and loved here. Plus, they serve pizzas and have a crawfish boil for patrons to purchase hot and fresh crawfish every Tuesday evening in April. Love it! ~ Lacey G.
Other mentions
If you’re Uptown, Garden District Pub at 1916 Magazine gets a mention from Douglas B.
Finally, Mimi’s at 2601 Royal Street and Marie’s Bar at 2483 Burgundy are Marigny spots that will welcome you and your pet. Jackson gives it 2 paws up.
