Things to do in Gretna – our agents choose
We recently asked our agents “what are your favorite things to do in Gretna?” and the responses came as no surprise.
Amore Bakery and Cafe
Just across the street from the Farmer’s Market, you’ll find Amore Bakery. In the short time they’ve been open, Amore has become the spot to grab a coffee and dessert. With special treats like Spumoni Cheesecake, it’s easy to see why they’ve created a great reputation for excellence.
Farmer’s Market
The Gretna Farmer’s Market has been growing over the last couple of years, particularly since our friend Denise Ponce took over the marketing. It’s the place to be on Saturday mornings, with fresh produce, eggs, honey, arts and crafts, pet treats, and more.
Walk the levee
With a paved path from Gretna all the way to Algiers Point, you’ll have a gorgeous river view as you walk, jog, run, or bike the levee.
Gretna Tavern
Hey, no judgement here that one of our agents quipped that the Gretna Tavern has always been a strange source of delight.
Gattuso’s
Live music, a wide selection of beer and cocktails, family friendly, outdoor dining…there’s so much to love about Gattuso’s. Be aware that weekend evenings can get pretty crowded, so arrive early for the best seating and hang out for the night. You’re sure to run into someone you know.
RiverShack
If you ask someone where to find brunch on the West Bank, chances are the response will be RiverShack. It’s also a great spot for happy hour, cheap eats, and a fabulous view of the river from the second floor deck. Friday nights you’ll find the Gretna Social bike club rolling up with their lighted bicycles.
